TikTok has been a viral vehicle for content creators, including those of us in the adult industry. But despite being a newer social media platform, the short-form video sharing app is notoriously strict with its community guideline violations. What do you do if your account is permanently banned?
In this article, I'll walk you through the steps to take to rebuild your audience after your TikTok account has been banned, including best practices for new account creation, and how to build an audience from scratch on the platform.
1. How to create a new TikTok account
TikTok, much like other social media platforms, tracks your digital information. They know your IP address, phone number, email, location, and more! When you’re banned and try to start a new account on the same device, TikTok will likely suppress, or even ban, your new account quickly due to the digital information it’s collected. The best way to create a new TikTok account is to start fresh with a new device and phone number - adding a new phone to your phone plan is the best way to achieve this. TikTok’s traffic is so beneficial for promotion that most of the top adult creators on the platform have more than 5 devices that they utilize to post on various TikTok accounts. In my personal experience, the price of a new phone line is easily covered directly from the fan site subscriptions that I get through TikTok’s traffic.
Once you have a new device and number, you can set up a fresh account - I would recommend doing two new accounts while you’re at it. Make sure to make a new email address for it as well. If you own your own domain address (ex. GwenAdora.com), with email capabilities, you can create unlimited email aliases for new social media accounts across the web (social@gwenadora.com, example@gwenadora.com).
Next, you'll want to start building your audience from scratch. This can be a time-consuming process, but it's important to not get discouraged, as TikTok accounts are easy to grow if you’re following the right trends.
2. Building an audience from scratch on Tiktok
Upon the creation of your new account, your For You Page (FYP) algorithm will be fresh. The content promoted will be generic, so you’ll need to spend some time swiping through videos to train your algorithm to understand the type of content you’re specifically looking for. In our case, as adult creators, we’re looking for trends used by hot girls and babes. Luckily these videos aren’t that far off from the “base” algorithm that is served to you upon account creation. Swipe quickly through videos that aren’t relevant to you, and Like and interact with videos that are within the genre of videos you want to make. Soon your FYP will be full of hot babe trends that you can mimic to start building up your own audience.
The trends that get the most attention on TikTok are typically the most simple, and the most cringey. In the case of rebuilding your audience, quantity over quality is the key. When you decide to start posting on a new TikTok account, you should be posting at least three times a day for an entire month. Using your account frequently, including going Live when you’re eligible, shows TikTok, and its algorithm, that you’re dedicated to their app. The more you post, the more they will push you onto other users FYPs. As a creator who loves putting effort into my content, it does pain me to be participating in copy & paste trends, but the analytics can’t be ignored. Simple but popular trends work, and when you need to rebuild your TikTok presence again and again, they’re the easiest way to make up for the lost traffic to your premium sites.
Avoiding Community Guideline Violations
There is no sure-fire way to get your account banned on TikTok, but making content that skirts the guidelines by self-censoring is the best way to avoid deletion. Top creators have found success roleplaying normal scenarios with implied undertones, and utilizing internet lingo (corn instead of porn) to make content. Subtlety is the key to longevity on the app.
If you receive a content violation, make sure to make an appeal, as the app often falsely determines content as against community guidelines. The more violations you receive, the closer your account is to being deleted, and winning appeals will allow you to use the app for longer.
While it’s exhausting to begin new accounts time and time again, TikTok is one of the best ways to build brand awareness and connect with fans and customers. Try not to get discouraged when your account goes down - it just takes a bit of time and commitment to restart your presence on the platform.
